The gunsmith degree program provides training for students in custom gunsmithing and gun repair. It is also where students will learn and develop basic knowledge and skills needed to become a professional gunsmith. Gunsmith career-men (and women) are people who make, modify, or repair guns. These courses, when completed, will allow the students to know a set of general knowledge about gunsmith and will be useful when they actually embark on their separate career post-graduation. Because of everyone's demanding schedule, many students are now resorting to online programs because it offers convenience and time management.  Online gunsmith degrees provide classes in topics such as, ammunition and ballistics, customizing gun stocks, gunsmith tools, metalwork, etc. These courses are also offered online, which may be more convenient for those who are working already. Students who complete the gunsmith degree program go on to become great gunsmith men/women either by starting their own businesses in repair/customization, by creating custom ammunition, or by restoring valuable antique firearms to (or close to) their original state. Depending on the level and years of experience, gunsmith workers get paid anywhere from $30,000 a year to $60,000 according to Payscale.
