Fashion Degree
The fashion degree includes the study of both past history as well as history in the making. The field of fashion has much to offer as it is constantly evolving and changing. Students pursuing this degree will learn from past and the most current designers/designs to gain a full understanding of where fashion came from and where it is going. The utilization of real-world situations is a key benefit in going through the courses and obtaining the degree. The students will gather all the design compositions done throughout their college/university, or online, courses and make them into a portfolio which they will use upon graduating. Many students are now resorting to online programs because it offers convenience and time management. Online fashion degrees will encompass areas such as fashion art, design, history, PR, colors, textiles, technology, etc, which are all important courses to take in order to become successful in the field of fashion. With a fashion degree, students can pursue several different kinds of careers, usually fast-paced and competitive. The fashion industry seeks individuals (individuals with degrees!) who are driven, knowledgeable, talented, and passionate about creating fashion, breathing fashion, and living fashion. Most people are attracted to the fashion degree and industry for the stereotypical glamour that they think will come with the job but often times obtaining the job requires many courses, classes, and – above all – persistence. In this degree, there are several more concentrated degrees that can be pursued such as the fashion design degree, fashion merchandising degree, and the retail management degree.
