Ashford University
Founded in 1918, Ashford University is a liberal arts college. The university was originally called Mount St. Clare College until 2002 when it changed names to the Franciscan Unversity and then in 2005 it was acquired by Bridgeport Education that re-named it yet again to its current title. AU’s mission is to develop students intellectually and personally via in depth degree programs which are affordable and innovative. Their programs are ideal for working adults who can only attend virtual classes during the evening. These classes are also notoriously more affordable than other sonline.
Accreditation
Ashford University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the NOrth Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The HLC is recognized as an accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Financial aid is given to those students who qualify and need it the most and the school also offers a complete career services program to help you find a job.
